The Pentagon's Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA) says Russia is developing a satellite capable of carrying a nuclear weapon into orbit. Its 2026 space threat assessment warns that an orbital nuclear detonation could destroy or disable thousands of satellites and create radiation belts lasting years, threatening GPS, communications, weather forecasting, and military and commercial space infrastructure worldwide.
