Z tisku:
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The Russian 3M22 Zircon (or Tsirkon) occupies a space between a real military capability and a major propaganda tool. While it is a functional missile that has been deployed in Ukraine, many of its "invincible" claims are viewed as highly inflated.
Real Capability vs. Propaganda Claims
The Propaganda: Russian officials, including President Putin, have claimed the Zircon can reach speeds of Mach 9, has a range of 1,000 km, and is impossible to intercept. It is often presented as a "Wunderwaffe" (miracle weapon) to intimidate the West and boost domestic prestige.
The Reality: Combat analysis in Ukraine tells a different story. Ukrainian forces have reported several successful interceptions of Zircons using Western defense systems like the Patriot and SAMP/T.
Performance Gaps: Experts note that while it may reach hypersonic speeds during flight, it likely slows down to around Mach 4.5 in its terminal phase to maneuver or home in on targets, making it vulnerable to modern air defenses. Additionally, its warhead (estimated at 100-150 kg) is significantly smaller than propaganda suggests
