Krasobruslař Tomáš Verner a jeho agentura, která ho vyslala jezdit do severokorejského Pchjongjangu, zlehčují fakt, že vystoupil v této totalitní komunistické zemi. Tvrdí, že šlo pouze o sport. Ovšem pokud se podíváme na zprávy oficiální severokorejské tiskové agentury KCNA (najdete je na internetové adrese http://www.kcna.co.jp/index-e.htm), tak vidíme, že krasobruslařský festival Paektusan byl pořádaný v rámci oslav 69. narozenin diktátora Kim Čong-ila. Tedy člověka, který popravuje své politické oponenty a zavírá lidi do koncentračních táborů.
Návštěva každého cizince v KLDR je vždy nějakým způsobem zneužita severokorejským režimem a je vydávána za podporu tohoto totalitního státu. Pokud to Tomáš Verner neví, je to jeho problém. Podivné navíc je, že Verner nebyl v KLDR poprvé. Vystoupil zde už zde před lety jako mladíček (bylo mu pouhých 14 let). Kdo ho tehdy poslal do Severní Koreje? Rodiče? Trenér? Agentura? A proč proboha ta záliba bruslit v rámci oslav narozenin odporného diktátora? Hrály v tom hlavní roli peníze? Ani to by Vernera neomlouvalo.

Paektusan Prize Int'l Figure-skating Festival Closes
Pyongyang, February 17 (KCNA) -- The 20th Paektusan Prize International Figure-skating Festival was closed with due ceremony at the Ice Rink here on Feb. 17. The festival opened on Feb. 15 on the occasion of the birthday of General Secretary Kim Jong Il.
Present there were Kim Ki Nam, Yang Hyong Sop, Kang Sok Ju, Choe Ryong Hae, Vice-Premier Kang Nung Su, Chairman of the Pyongyang City People's Committee Ryang Man Gil and officials concerned and sportspersons, citizens and overseas compatriots.
Festival prizes were awarded to figure skaters of Russia, France, the Czech Republic and the DPRK who displayed high skills.
Pak Myong Chol, minister of Physical Culture and Sports, in his closing address expressed belief that the figure skaters from different countries would significantly adorn the festival conducive to the auspicious February holiday in the future, too.
At the end of the ceremony there was a demonstration performance of figure skaters of different countries and the DPRK.

Performance of Star Figure-skaters
Pyongyang, February 17 (KCNA) -- Star figure-skaters of different countries contributed to significantly decorating the 20th Paektusan Prize International Figure-skating Festival with their refined skills and high artistic representation.
Among them was Evgeny Plyushchenko of Russia, 29, who won in World Figure Skating Championships and European Figure Skating Championships several times. He successfully carried out jump turn and other high-technique movements on the basis of rich experience to fully show his skills as a world champion.
Tomas Verner, 25, of the Czech Republic, and Surya Varuna Claudine Bonaly, 38, of France, both winners of European Figure Skating Championships, smoothly carried out difficult movements to be acclaimed by the audience.
Nathalie Gabrielle Pechalat, 28, and Fabian Bourzat, 31, a pair of France, showed beautiful rhythms and artistic representation in unity of action to the light music. They are well known in the world ice dancing circle.
Kim Un Ha, 24, who won gold medals in international tournaments, and Ri Song Chol, 25, of the DPRK touched the hearts of the audience with brisk and graceful movements.
Ri Chol Un, 39, of the Ice Association of the DPRK, said that the festival delighted the Korean people greeting the greatest national holiday.
